The Billing & Invoicing Officer works closely with, and reports to the Supervisor Group Accounting and Support. He/she will play an integral part in the day-to-day operations and accounting. Within Group Accounting and Support you ensure accurate, timely invoicing and payment.

Location: Rotterdam - fulltime

Tasks & responsibilities

  • The Billing & Invoicing Officer is a direct support to the Supervisor
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliation for his/her scope
  • Record and monitor general ledger transactions including account receivables and account payables
  • Control and review Inter-co recharges and supervise accounting staff to comply with the regulation and correct project code in DAX2012.
  • Insures that the general accounting is performed in accordance with the local GAAP and IFRS (consolidated group package).
  • Support and provide and reconcile the information related to finance accounting, tax and financial analysis on global revenue and costs recharged from inter-companies
  • Responsible for month end accounting closing in accordance and timeframe of the group requirements. Work closely with the Supervisor to insure an efficient and correct monthly closing. Ensure all intercompany and third-party invoices are posted in a timely manner
  • Ensure transactions are posted to the correct accounts and accurately reflect the business purpose of the transaction and Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
  • Review and book accruals
  • Ensure VAT transactions are properly accounted for and recorded
  • Processing outgoing payments


Experience and education:

  • A relevant accounting or bookkeeping degree, HBO or MBO BA (or comparable) with at least 4 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently in a busy and high-profile environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel
  • Good knowledge of invoice requirements and VAT regulations
  • Experience with DAX
  • Very good interpersonal skills and “can do “mentality
  • Good written and communication skills in English language
