As a Financial Controller you are responsible for various accounting and financial tasks to be completed in an accurate and timely manner. You also analyze the current work processes, prepare proposals, test new IT reports and implement these where needed. To achieve these goals you have excellent knowledge of financial and IT processes. Besides this you are responsible for the coordination of the activities of the Finance Officer and Junior Finance Officer.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements, regulatory and other ad hoc financial reports;
  • Reconciliation of Inter Company balances, accruals, prepayments, deferred income, work in progress, personnel costs, Funds and Trust;
  • Replace the Team Leader Finance in his absence;
  • Support the Team Leader Finance with completing the financial administration in time;
  • Provide input to the AO/IC process;
  • Contribute in optimizing, improving and obeying the AO/IC principles;
  • Prepare VAT returns;
  • Prepare, analyze and execute at random (financial) reports;
  • Assist in drafting the management reports on a monthly basis;
  • Improve the financial systems and tests future releases;
  • Maintain the design and contents of the automated financial environment;
  • Responsible for the completeness of the accounts of a number of assigned entities;
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly reports;
  • Participate in a number current and future projects;
  • Optimize and analyze fixed fees on a monthly basis;
  • Coordinate the finance processes ;
  • First point of contact for the Finance team;
  • Responsible for the coordination of the activities of the Finance Officer and Junior Finance Officer
  • Coaching and mentoring responsibilities, e.g. delegated responsibility for the team to ensure quality of work and efficiency, delegated responsibility to develop team members.

Technical skills / Job Specific skills / Professional Qualifications

  • A relevant Bachelor degree (HEAO BE/BA or SPD)
  • Strong analytical and system skills
  • Minimum experience of 7 years in a similar position
  • Coaching and mentoring skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
