Job purpose

The Analyst plays a crucial role in the team, performing proactive identification of opportunities for cost reduction and performance improvement across projects. These may be in terms of direct or indirect cost savings, for example from improved supplier service delivery through to developing and implementing innovative processes and approaches.

The mission of the Procurement team is to drive the business to holistically manage total cost from third parties relationships to create value and generate a competitive advantage for TMF.

 

This role will be based in our Kuala Lumpur Office and will form part of the wider Global Procurement Team based in the London, Amsterdam, Vienna and Colombia

 

Key Accountabilities

  • A sound understanding and use of procurement best practice
  • Ensure that procurement is managed in compliance with the law and industry best practice
  • Manage complex data sets in MS Excel, and the interrogation of data to drive identified savings projects
  • Helping to prepare Requests for Information/Requests for Proposals and providing detailed reports on vendor responses
  • Preparing and delivering presentation materials (e.g. slides, reports) for stakeholder communication and meetings
  • Conducting market research, contract compliance reviews and ad-hoc problem solving where appropriate
  • Liaising with stakeholders to obtain and interpret information
  • Working with the team and internal stakeholders to develop and implement improved processes and methods
  • Supporting other team members in sharing best practice and technical/market knowledge
  • Support the identification of newer initiatives/projects to meet the savings targets
  • Monitoring the market to identify trends and be proactive to any changes.

Critical competencies for success

  • First class analytical skills
  • Strong Verbal Reasoning and Numerical Skills
  • Experience in analytical tools other than Excel is an added advantage
  • Communication skills: Uses language and style of communication appropriately and is fluent, clear and concise in written and oral communication
  • The ability to articulate results and ideas in a concise manner using a variety of media and formats, and be persuasive and convincing in front of a challenging audience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages such as Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Educated to higher level of education, A-Level and/or degree equivalent
  • 5 years previous experience in a similar role is a must

  • The ability to organise tasks and execute these tasks in the specific timeframe
  • The ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be tenacious and resilient to cope with an environment which is sometimes challenging

  • Good team player – willing and able to assist the Procurement Manager and support the other members of the team and work in cross-functional, cross –category teams

Professional Qualifications

  •  Educated to higher level of education, A-Level and/or degree and working towards a finance or business and/or a Procurement related professional certification such as CIPS is an added advantage
