Job purpose:

 

To provide support to the TCB/Funds compliance function of the Jersey business. Assist the Head of Compliance with developing, delivering, maintaining, and continually improving a robust compliance framework, whilst leading and influencing the development of a compliance culture within TMF.

 

 

The primary focus of the role will be:

 

Compliance Framework Design and Implementation

  • Ensuring that the Compliance Policies and Procedures are maintained on an ongoing basis in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and guidance.
  • On-going maintenance of mapping document, listing all relevant Compliance laws and regulation, JFSC Codes of Practice and other relevant JFSC policies to confirm that all requirements are catered for in policies, procedures, training material, internal guidance, etc.

Compliance Advisory

  • Ensuring that a consistent, proportionate, and risk-based approach is applied to all compliance matters.
  • Assist the Head of Compliance with providing compliance advice and support across the TCB/ fund services business to ensure the resolution of compliance issues.
  • Compliance Controls
  • Responsible for reviewing all existing compliance policies to ensure that they continually meet regulatory and best practice requirements.
  • Ensure proper action plans are made and implemented to address upcoming changes in regulation and best practice.

Compliance Monitoring

  • To work in liaison with the compliance monitoring team to ensure that findings are reviewed, and impact considered to determine if changes may be required to policies, procedures, controls, training, etc.
  • Compliance Culture and Training
  • On-going review of effectiveness of training to determine areas where additional training may be required.
  • Preparation and delivery of training materials as relevant.
  • Day to day responsibility for the ongoing training and management of any junior members of the team.

Compliance Reporting

  • Maintain key registers.
  • Assist with the preparation of management information for board / committee reporting.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor appropriate and proportionate compliance reporting standards to enable the business to achieving objectives and strategy.
  • Ensure that compliance controls are well documented for internal and external purposes.
  • Prepare data and statistics required by the JFSC, and internal/external auditors.
  • Deputise for the Head of Compliance during any periods of absence to include all day-to-day responsibilities as may be required.
  • Have an understanding of and adhere with all applicable TMF Group and local policies and procedures.
  • Have a good understanding and knowledge of the Jersey regulatory and AML framework.

 

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an TCB/ FSB business environment is preferred but is not essential as training will be provided:
  • Professional compliance qualifications:
  • Expertise in all MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and other software packages as appropriate; and
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English.

  • Can articulate and demonstrate the impact (financial, etc.) of their role and activities on the immediate business area.
  • Will have an in-depth working knowledge of TMF’s customers and competitors within immediate area.

  • Understands and applies control and risk and governance frameworks consistently.
  • Will be able to use financial management techniques as part of a role.

  • Daily management of team including (but not limited to) the cascade of relevant information and operationalizing the strategic agenda.
