JOB PURPOSE

 

The Accounting and Tax Assistant Manager will assist the Manager in providing excellent service to clients, supervise accounting staff, review deliverables, and maintain client relationships. The ideal candidate should have relevant experience, knowledge of tax and accounting policy, and strong Excel skills. The role requires stakeholder management skills, attention to detail, independence, and ability to work under pressure.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises and coaches accounting supervisors, leads, senior and officers;
  • Maintains relationship with daily client contacts and their direct supervisors;
  • Reviews deliverables to clients;
  • Assists Manager in business development;
  • Prepares proposals for new/existing clients;  
  • Monitor and control the billing, debt recovery and credit control actions in the department;
  • Performs as authorized signatory for payment instruction;
  • Attends seminars for networking and development purposes;
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling of TMF services;
  • Manages a portfolio of clients for accounting & corporate tax (markets:  new and complex clients)
  • Reviews financial fluctuation analysis for key clients;
  • Liaises with auditors of clients;
  • Analyzes customer specific demands and provides value-added solutions;
  • Allocates engagements to team members based on their experience and competence;
  • Monitors productivity within the team and drives continuous improvement;
  • Responsible for preparing/reviewing invoices and collections;
  • Working with HR on recruitment activities, performance reviews, and employee relations matters;
  • Acting as Treasurer and/or Directors/Officers for the local office and/or clients that may assume certain level of responsibilities and risks;
  • Update and maintain records/information in ViewPoint.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree holder in Accountancy;
  • Pursuing or qualified in local professional examinations (CPA License), an advantage;
  • Minimum of 1 years in supervisory level;
  • Relevant experience in general accounting function in professional firms or multinationals;
  • Sound knowledge in local tax (CIT, VAT, EWT, FWT, FBT) and accounting policy (PFRS); knowledge in International Accounting (IFRS) will be an advantage;
  • Experience in preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules;
  • Knowledge in Xero, Quick Books or any ERP System is an advantage;
  • Sound knowledge of Philippine Accounting & Taxation;
  • Good knowledge of local system (e.g. Viewpoint);
  • Advanced Excel skill set and other Microsoft Office applications;
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Filipino.

    • Internal
    • External: Clients, local authorities, tax agents, auditors
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy;
  • Independent and able to work under pressure.
