Senior Bookkeeper / Accounts Preparer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility of the accounting and reporting requirements for a number of client relationships and ensure the provision of accurate and timely reporting, to include;
  • Preparation of annual financial statements
  • Provision of various interim reporting
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of cash flow forecasts
  • Various other miscellaneous reports and schedules as required
  • Cover for other team members as needed
  • Provide feedback on systems and procedures to ensure smooth completion of workloads
  • Analysis, input and have a good understanding of source data
  • To accurately and efficiently update client ledgers
  • To adopt a balance sheet approach to ensure that clients’ ledgers are complete and accurately reflect all assets and liabilities
  • VAT reconciliations
  • Provide support to administration staff on bookkeeping matters as needed
  • Liaise with auditors as necessary on client accounts
  • Attend meetings with clients and or intermediaries / auditors as and when required
  • Review of financial statements prepared by fellow team members
  • Undertake ad-hoc duties as requested by the Head of Client Accounting
  • Ensure that time is spent adding value to the client; maximise the number of postings and minimise time spent searching for documents
  • Ensure that any non-bookkeeping queries are immediately passed to the relevant department for resolution

  • Key knowledge and experience:


    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar environment.
    • Possession of, or studying towards a recognized professional  qualification, e.g. IAB or CAT
    • Good technical knowledge of trust & corporate administration
    • Experience of double entry bookkeeping up to trial balance
    • Experience of year end accounts adjustments
    • Illustrating competent knowledge with technical ability on a daily basis
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Interprets instruction accurately
    • Refers decisions beyond boundaries of own role, seeking out second opinions when required
    • The ability to minimize errors and maintain high standards of service to clients
    • Expertise in all MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
    • Fluent in both written and spoken English.
