OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

Supports Team leader in the daily bookkeeping issues. Registers in accountancy the movements/adjustments which do not require band 4 level.Prepares Reports under Spanish Gaap. Answers basic queries from clients and provide them with requested documentation. All these tasks under the supervision of the Team leader.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for the maintenance of her/his client’s accounting accounts.
  • Distributes the workload between the accounting officers. Reviews the work they perform.
  • Main day-to-day contact for most clients, except for those that require a higher job band contact.
  • Attends meetings with clients and/or third parties when operative queries are to be discussed.
  • Studies and solves basic operative queries from accounting officers. Trains new accounting officers on their daily role and on new tasks assigned to the team.
  • Assists in the maintenance of the chart of accounts, sub-ledger accounts and other accounting application configurations.
  • Reviews accounting entries processed by accounting officers. Processes other entries, such as accruals, depreciation and any other needed for a complete financial closure.
  • Extracts financial information from legal documents and processes the relevant entries.
  • Prepares paperwork on accounts payables/receivables, cost reimbursements, and other billings for processing.
  • Develops and maintains supporting worksheets.
  • Prepares statutory and corporate reporting files.
  • Prepares first draft of revenue and expense projections and financial reports.
  • Prepares VAT, WHT and CIT tax calculations. Prepares Annual closing CIT accrual.
  • Follows up the fulfilment of tax (local, autonomous government or State) or statutory deadlines and informs Team Leader about any incidence or complication encountered which may delay its submission.
  • Basic review of TMF invoices. Send them to clients once reviewed by the head of the team.
  • Audit assistance coordination. Main contact for auditors’ queries.
  • Filling in the INE forms.
  • Ensures that appropriate responses and actions related his/her clients are taken with respect to request of information from the Public Administrations (Tax Authorities, Bank of Spain, Ministry of Industry, others).
  • Controls the invoice procedure regarding the different clients and assuring that time writing is correctly recorded.
  • Any other necessary task to complete the team’s output to be reviewed and provided to third parties.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma/Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or similar;
  • At least 3 years of experience in Accounting & Tax in consulting companies or structured enterprises;
  • High knowledge of Spanish GAAP/IFRS and VAT/taxes procedures;
  • Customer-focused, the experience working with external client will be considered a great plus;
  • Team player, proactive and out-of-the-box-thinking;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Meticulous and organized.
