Key Responsibilities

• Understand existing Data Platform
• Understand Business requirements and data integration requirements
• Understand Data model
• Define source to target mappings. Identify data transformations based on business rules and data types
• Analyze source data and identify data quality issues
• Design, develop and test data pipelines using SSIS
• Handle DQ issues and transformations in data pipeline
• Ownership and oversight of data quality and identify potential enhancements
• Validate data load process and data published in target. Capture test case results
• Design error handling and auditing as part of data pipelines
• Prepare relevant documentation for pipeline design and test cases
• Review pipeline design and code with Data architect
• Deploy pipelines in higher environments
• Automate package deployment
• Monitor pipeline executions and troubleshoot errors / data issues
• Provide support and fix issues in existing ETL processes
• Analyze pipeline performance and optimize performance based on data latency requirements
• Produce high-quality, secure, and maintainable code
• Maintain code repository and regularly update code in repository
• Work collaboratively as a member of the development team to build best-in-class data solutions in an agile environment
• Participate in Effort Estimation, Work scheduling process with Leads
• Ensure process compliance
• Provide Daily / Weekly update on progress of work
• Identify areas of improvement and propose solutions

Candidate profile

• 3+ years of development experience in a Data Engineering role
• Worked in development role for atleast 1 Data engineering project end to end.
• Understanding of Data modeling techniques esp. Dimensional modelling
• Working knowledge of Data Warehouses, Big Data and Data Lakes
• Understanding of Master data management and Data Quality
• Working experience on any RDBMS SQL Server / Oracle / MySQL
• Experience handling Structured and semi-unstructured datasets like json, xml
• Strong query writing skills, ability to write complex SQL queries
• Experienced in extracting, cleaning, transforming and integrating data across heterogenous source systems
• Experience of designing & developing pipelines for ETL / ELT scenarios
• Good working knowledge of SSIS
• Experience working with Azure DevOps
• Good experience of monitoring and troubleshooting Data pipelines
• Experience working in an agile and iterative landscape
• Microsoft certifications are a plus
