About the role

The Head of Legal – Caribbean Market will be responsible for managing the legal function for TMF’s regulated entities and subsidiaries operating within the Caribbean market (the “Licencees”). This will include the handling of certain applications and licensing correspondence with the BVI Financial Services Commission and the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (the “Regulators”), as well as the following key responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with achieving Group Legal KPI’s.
• Proactively monitor the implementation of global legal policies, procedures, and local legal requirements.
• Report to group legal director on any instances of litigation matters relating to the Licensees.
• Manage technical administration of all Licensees
• Support structuring of group entities in accordance with local legislation and in alignment with group legal rationalisation and structuring exercises
• Work with director of legal to ensure alignment of market legal budgeting matters.
• Update market management on legal developments.
• Assist with the drafting of merger documents and seek approval from the Regulators
• Handle licence applications with the Regulators.
• Provide support to the finance/PC/II and compliance team where necessary.
• Act as executive director for TMF and client regulated entities, reviewing and signing. documents as required with respect to the role.
• Act as authorised agent for the Licensees as required.
• Reaching target goals for corporate secretarial work.
• Act as liquidator.
• Provide remediation support where necessary for the implementation of group policies and procedures or local legal requirements.
• Act as Country Privacy Lead for BVI under data protection framework.
• Provide support as needed with respect to financial and regulatory audits affecting the Licensees.
• Act as company secretary for the Licensees where required and support implementation of corporate governance framework across market
• Review corporate documentation as requested to support delivery of client service
