DISCOVER THE ROLE
This opportunity involves governance oversight of investment management in a growing fund management company. The Designated Person for Investment Management will be responsible for monitoring the investment policy, strategies and performance of the funds under TMF-FM's management.
This is a maternity cover for up to 12 months with the possibility of a related position arising at the end of the contract. We offer hybrid work model for this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Implementation of investment management oversight framework and policies and procedures for monitoring investment management to ensure that the assets of the funds are invested in accordance with regulatory requirements, constitutional documents and relevant prospectus/supplements
Providing input prior to fund launch on fund documentation including setting of leverage limits, liquidity limits, investment restrictions and other items, and on agreements with delegate investment managers (Investment Management Agreement and Service Level Agreement).
Determining the appropriate level of monitoring and reporting required for a new fund (based on e.g.: the complexity of the investment strategy; target markets; types of investment instruments; the underlying investment activities (as positions are bought and sold); frequency of investor subscriptions/redemptions; the utilisation, valuation and security of margin and/or collateral; the number of and functions provided by fund service providers; and the use of efficient portfolio management techniques) .
Ongoing monitoring of investment related matters as set out above following authorization and launch of new funds.
Monitoring and reporting on implementation of investment related regulations and related filings
Conducting initial and ongoing due diligence of delegate investment managers and investment advisors in conjunction with the DP for Operational Risk.
Regular liaison with delegate investment managers and investment advisors as part of an ongoing monitoring plan (monthly, quarterly and annual interactions).
Analyzing and challenging reporting received from delegates and service providers.
Preparation of reporting for TMF-FM and the Central Bank of Ireland as required.
Review and maintenance of policies and procedures for TMF-FM (e.g. Leverage, liquidity management, best execution, valuation, ESG etc.) and ensuring periodic update of all investment-related procedures for internal investment team
Chairing of Investment Review Committee
Mapping and regular review of fund-related investment risks, controls and responsibilities.
Ensuring calculation and disclosure of the fund NAVs and remediation in respect of any incorrect valuation.
Representing TMF-FM on Irish Funds Macroprudential Working Group
Ensuring compliance with SFDR disclosure and reporting requirements across funds alongside the DP for Compliance
Ensuring compliance with ESMA/CBI requirements with respect to reviewing the costs and fees charged to funds under management
Review of fund KIDs or KIIDs as appropriate and monitoring of SRRIs.
Project management of new fund launches, and key transactions as required.
Preparation of periodic reporting for fund boards.
Review of fund financial statements for regulatory compliance and drafting of TMF-FM reporting.
Notifying clients on relevant regulatory changes that impact their funds/operations as required.
Serve as line manager for fund management intern
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Excellent knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Excel, Word and
Powerpoint.
Experience of Funds Axis desirable but not essential.
Experience of illiquid assets classes desirable (particularly private equity or loan origination or private debt or litigation finance)
At least 5 years' post qualification experience in a relevant funds related, legal, corporate finance, portfolio management or technical role.
The successful candidate should at least have a third level qualification in business, finance, or law.
Professional qualifications such as the CIFD (Certified Investment Fund Director)
or CFA (Certified Financial Analyst) would be advantageous.
