Key responsibilities
Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements
Liaising with stakeholders to finalize audited financial statements
Computation and filing of VAT returns
Computation and filing of Tax Deduction at Source (TDS) returns
Computation and filing of Goods and Services returns
Computation and filing of Advance Payment System returns
Assisting with the filing of Annual Income Tax returns
Prepare and submit reports to regulatory bodies
Support clients with service delivery matters
Prepare reports for clients
Attend client meetings, as required
Advise client’s representatives on all updates in regard to legal obligations when required
Assisting in various accounting projects
Ensuring input and compilation of data for the preparation and calculation of payroll request Responsible of preparation and computation of payroll
Calculation and submission of P.A.Y.E, CSG and PRGF
Responsible for preparation and filing of annual PAYE return
Responsible for preparation statement of emoluments
Oversee company pension fund and health insurance program
Ensuring that all legal deductions are made for employee’s salaries
Prepare and upload instructions to bank for payment of salaries
Issuing payslips, emoluments, and other legally required documents to employees
Maintaining filling system for all payroll records
Assist internal and external auditors when required
Implementation and maintaining changes including documentation of payroll process within the finance department
Ensuring compliance with established payroll policies and local employment legislation
Handle payroll-related queries from employees
Key Requirements:
Qualified Accountant / accounting qualification with over 5 years’ experience in the domestic market
Fully conversant with HR related matters for local payroll processing
Sound knowledge of International Accounting Standard (IAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and key updates;
Sound knowledge of the Worker’s Right Act and Renumeration Regulations
Excellent skills in use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Experience in any key accounting software is an advantage
Ability to work and interact with a team and with customers
Good command of written and spoken English
High Integrity; trustworthy, dependable, and able to deal confidentially
