DISCOVER THE ROLE

The accountant will be responsible for preparing accounting deliverables for a portfolio of complex alternative investment fund structures administered by TMF, contributing to the delivery of the highest level of accounting service is delivered to clients under the direction of the Funds Services Accounting Manager.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Bookkeeping a portfolio of funds structures, management companies and associated sub-managed accounts and producing the resulting periodic trial balance reports and analytical review files
  • Maintaining accurate records on Investran and well-filed Microsoft Excel schedules for all aspects of accounting, including the supporting documentation
  • Liaising with the clients’ key fund accountants and other client contacts, on all financial reporting and fund accounting matters.
  • Preparing weekly and monthly bank reconciliations and providing supporting documentation evidencing transactions
  • Preparing quarterly financial statements in accordance with the relevant accounting standards and templates
  • Supporting the audit process by providing well-maintained records, files and supports as needed, and monitoring the audit trackers for outstanding information
  • Maintaining pro-active communication with the more senior team members to ensure that the managers are kept appraised of status of work, and to allow them to accommodate periods of absence and/or peak demand.
  • Demonstrating good attention to detail in all work that is undertaken to ensure the highest level of service is delivered to clients and ensuring that accounting data is prepared accurately, efficiently and within agreed timeframes.
  • Working closely with counterparts on other teams to ensure seamless and coordinated client service delivery.
  • In addition to the duties listed above, the Fund Accountant may be requested to perform any other ad hoc duties or projects as requested

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-5 years’ experience in the financial services industry.
  • Previous bookkeeping experience 
  • Have commenced or intends to commence study towards the completion of a professional accountancy qualification.
  • Ability to plan and organise oneself to meet challenging deadlines.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work within a team under the guidance of a manager /mentor.
