About the Role
The Assistant Manager - Accounting & Tax (FP&A) is responsible for overseeing the financial planning and analysis processes. This role involves working closely with various departments to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models, as well as providing analytical insights to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning: Lead the annual budgeting process by coordinating with department heads and senior management to develop accurate and achievable financial targets. Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning. Monitor financial performance against budget and provide regular reports to management highlighting key variances and trends. Identify areas of improvement and efficiency in the budgeting process and recommend appropriate solutions.
Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support business decisions and evaluate the financial impact of various initiatives. Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights on trends, opportunities, and risks to drive operational and strategic improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the financial viability of proposed projects or investments. Develop and deliver financial presentations to senior management, providing clear explanations and recommendations based on analysis.
Forecasting and Reporting: Coordinate the forecasting process, working closely with department heads to ensure accurate and timely forecasts. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management, highlighting key insights and areas of concern. Monitor and analyze financial results, providing variance analysis and explanations. Develop and maintain financial dashboards and other reporting tools to enhance visibility into financial performance.
Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to understand their financial needs and provide analytical support. Act as a trusted advisor to management by providing financial insights and recommendations. Participate in strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, new product launches, and market expansion, by conducting financial analysis and due diligence.
Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of financial analysts, providing guidance and support in their day-to-day activities. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the FP&A team. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development.
