Job Purpose

This internship role will be responsible for a finance and investment-related tasks that are primarily related to ensuring accounts and/or bookkeeping are up to date, all aspects of day-to-day accounting and calculation/reporting. These areas include trust services and fund accounting.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in financial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports, such as financial statements, profitability analysis, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in ensuring trust accounts and/or bookkeeping are up to date.
  • Collaborate with team members to assess investment opportunities and conduct market research.
  • Assist in maintaining financial records and reconciling accounts.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Work together with accounts department to ensure that the tax returns and accounts are prepared and submitted accurately and accordingly.
  • Assist in preparing a timely and accurate Net Assets Values (NAV), yields, distributions, and other fund accounting output for subsequent review.
  • Undertake other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the manager.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor's Degree / Professional Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
  • Sound knowledge of international and local accounting principles and practices and financial reporting.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exposure to banking/legal background is an added advantage.
  • Intermediate Excel skill set and willingness to learn cloud accounting system.
  • High initiative and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical, consultative, communication and judgement skills.
  • Effective communication.
