About the role

In this role you will support the Accounting & Tax team in ensuring that TMF’s clients are provided with an efficient, professional and high-quality service that meets all statutory obligations. You will be responsible for the correct completion and filing of documentation, ensuring accurate accounting, and working in a timely and efficient manner to ensure the successful delivery of services to clients.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sorting and filing documents into third party invoices, company’s sale invoices, bank statements, cash documents;
  • Making simple entries into accounting system (sales and receivables, costs and liabilities, cash reports, bank statements) in accordance with accounting and tax regulations;
  • Preparing/updating fixed assets register and depreciation tables;
  • Classification of operating costs into simple categories, review of received cash reports for completeness, checking of bank statements for completeness.
  • Assisting in the preparation and filing of tax returns (VAT, Withholding taxes )
  • Performing different reconciliations (MyDATA ), as requested by accountant or manager;
  • Adhering to TMF internal procedures and ensuring compliance with TMF’s Risk and Control framework and processes;
  • Any other tasks assigned by the accountant/manager

 

About you…

The successful candidate is analytical and methodical with experience in accounting. Possesses knowledge of accounting & tax regulations coupled with strong communication abilities. Integrity, team spirit and strong organizational skills are highly valued attributes.

 

Ideally, you are meeting following hiring criteria:

  • A degree in Accounting, Business or a closely related field;
  • 2 years of working experience in an accounting firm is preferred;
  • Resourceful, independent and strong problem-solving abilities;
  • Excellent written and communication skills, with strong ability to plan ahead and organize themselves;
  • Analytical structured mind set with ability to follow and build upon existing processes and ensure data is maintained with accuracy and consistency;
  • Fluency in English is essential;
  • Basic MS Excel and MS Word skills are essential;
  • Experience in a similar role or business with good client servicing skills is preferred
